Piet Boon is een van mijn helden als het op design aan komt. Zijn stoere ontwerpen en gebruik van natuurlijke en eerlijke materialen maken dat ik direct viel voor zijn stijl. Inmiddels is een gedeelte van zijn briljante werk vast gelegd in twee boeken en kan de wereld een klein stukje van Piet Boon in huis halen.

Piet Boon is one of my heroes as it comes to design, his love for sustainable, natural, honest materials combined with his sober, robust style made me fall in love with his designs. The work he did in Bonaire really looks like heaven to me…hopefully I will have the opportunity to visit this house in the future.
Bonaire was love at first sight for Boon when he came to visited a couple friends here. Not long after he designed his first Beachhouse and then finally found the time to design and to personally supervise to building of his own private Beach Villa here on Bonaire.
Build on a unique location on Bonaire the Villa has direct access to the ocean. As in his previous Beachhouse design Boon again opted for a ‘natural’ design concept. Although you are in the tropics there’s almost no need for air co. The cool trade wind breezes right through the house, which makes for a comfortable atmosphere. The huge shutters in the villa temper the trade wind.
The interior and the terraces are styled with exclusive furniture designed by Piet Boon. The spacious kitchen is equipped with the state of the art products from Viking. All the bedrooms have air co and have their own private well equipped bathrooms.
The villa has a private pool and the gazebo offers a truly magnificent view of the Caribbean ocean.
This private location enjoys daily visits from some of the interesting creatures in the world. Dolphins swim by on a regular basis, while pelican and frigate birds circle above the sea looking for a meal.
